Challenge

The client sought to build a community-centered app that bridges generational gaps and encourages walking for mental and physical health. They needed to modernize and stabilize their existing app, attract users across diverse age groups, and foster partnerships with organizations supporting senior wellness.

Approach

We partnered with WaBu to overhaul the app’s user experience and technical architecture. From rebranding with a playful mascot to optimizing usability across generations, we designed an intuitive platform that encourages social interaction and walk scheduling. The platform was enhanced with real-time messaging, location-based services, and social features like event invites, comments, and likes.

We also extended the app’s impact by onboarding insurance partners focused on elderly care, creating strategic alignment with the client’s mission to reduce depression and anxiety among seniors.

Outcome

  • Successfully launched across 7 universities in the first 2 months
  • Over 500 students onboarded within weeks
  • Partnered with healthcare insurers for elderly engagement
  • Refactored iOS app for performance and stability
